Cod Modern Warfare Update

So, I think I'm done with Modern Warfare. As you might know, I absolutely loved the first weeks I had with this game. It was fun, it was nostalgic, I was ranking up, enjoying myself  to the very max. I had fun with my buddies, and we were trying things like Shield and Knife, Rpgs, and other pretty toxic loadouts just for the fun of it.      But that's not how I feel now. I feel bored. I hit rank 100 about a week ago, and haven't touched the game since. I would've probably stopped earlier had I not been so close to a numerical milestone. The Skill Based Match Making (SBMM) has ruined the game for me, like many others who voice their opinion on forums and reddit and such. I consider myself pretty decent at the game, and climbed the unseen skill ladder to a point where I can't relax when I play. I am no longer able to sit back and chat with my buddies while doing decently. But now there's no point. There are much better competitive games out there i...

New Call of Duty

So, I purchased the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) when it came out. I had a blast, by myself, with buddies, with people I met online. All and all it was a good time. But I think I enjoyed it so much not only because of the game, but the nostalgia associated it.      I grew up playing call of duty, it was the first game I poured myself into. MW2 that is. My friends and I used to gather at my house, and spend hours on split screen, just 1v1ing and such. It was an absolute banger. I carried this over to MW3, Black Ops, Black Ops 2, playing countless hours and days prestieging and playing a whole lot of those games. It brought my friends closer together, and gave me something to do when it was too hot or cold to go outside.      Eventually though, I found my love for PC games, I had a crappy laptop that I ran countless games of Payday 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive on. I didn't have high frames, or a lot of skill, but I h...

Waking up in the morning.

For the vast majority of my days, the most difficult thing is waking up in the morning. This isn't some moan about difficult days or anything either, it's the literal act of pulling myself out of bed. It doesn't matter morning or night when I go to sleep, but whenever it is time to wake up to an alarm - count me out. Whatever that means I pulled myself out of bed this monday morning so we'll just count that as a W. Really that's all I have for today, I've been awake for about 2 hours now and just crave to go back to sleep. All is well, I'll just pump myself full of coffee in the mean time.

Getting good at games.

It would be wonderful to go back in time, probably around 11 years old, and learn a game. Once you learn it, you stick with it. I think learning at that age will put you further forward than trying to learn it later in life. I can see this in my own life, because I played a lot of call of duty at that age. But what is funny about all that, is as an 11-12 y/o playing CoD, I went to a couple of local tournaments and just dusted the opponents, older dudes, 30 year old men, and I just kicked their ass. I won an xbox out of it at one point. Funny sidenote: that's how I got the name HotSwap. A buddy and I were trying to install a hacked GTA IV so we got this new xbox, tore it apart, and hotswapped a hacked disk on the install. It's one of my favorite memories. I was too much of a coward to touch the spinning disk (I thought it would cut my fingers) so I got my friend to do it. We then spent probably 24 hours spawning in takes, and messing with people. It was all good fun. Anyway,...

Starting a blog.

Unfortunately, I haven't done this before, and thus it will likely be littered with small errors or other things, but truthfully I am not that worried. I'm Steve, or HotSwap, and I play videogames, work, go to school, and make youtube videos with my friends. I hope to keep this as a sort of journal in my experiences on those subjects, and I wish to talk about notable things going on in my life.  Youtube Twitch
